Start with the floor, not only the slipper
A soft slipper can feel wonderful on carpet, but cold hardwood, tile, and kitchen floors often ask for more structure.
A practical sole gives the foot a steadier base, especially when the slipper is worn for more than a few minutes at a time.
A firmer sole is not the same as a hard feeling
Customers sometimes expect every slipper to feel like a pillow underfoot. With sheepskin, comfort comes from the wool, the footbed, and the way the sole supports daily movement.
The goal is not to feel rigid. The goal is to feel warm, grounded, and secure on real floors.
Choose by how far she walks in them
For bedside wear, a very soft slipper can be enough. For stairs, kitchens, garages, patios, and quick outdoor steps, a hard sole usually makes more sense.
This is one reason many women prefer a sheepskin slipper with an indoor-outdoor sole: it keeps the comfort relaxed without making every step feel delicate.
